Happy first day of school, Albus Potter!

Are you a true Harry Potter Fan?

Do you know why Friday Sep 1st, 2017 is important to Harry and Ginny Potter?

Friday, 1 September, 2017 marks the official date on which Harry and his wife Ginny send the second of their three kids, their son Albus Severus, off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for the first time. Albus would have been 11 years old.

In the book, the characters go to King’s Cross railway station in London, where the children will enter Platform 9 and 3/4 by running through what appears to be an ordinary brick wall. They will then take the Hogwarts Express at 11.00 am to the special school.

The real 1 September, 2017 saw throngs of die-hard Harry Potter fans (some from places as far away as Finland and Florida!), wearing costumes and gathering in the actual King’s Cross Station in London, to celebrate Albus Potter’s  first day at Hogwarts. They filled the booking hall and the bridge above for the countdown to 11 am when the train leaves the platform.

Watch the madness!
