Earth Day 2018

Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22nd. This day was created to take time out from our busy schedules and to reflect on the state of our planet and environment.

Individuals, organizations, and schools across 192 countries conduct events to demonstrate various ways to preserve our environment –  recycling waste, planting trees, using less plastic, reducing dependence on fossil fuels, conserving water, etc.

In Mumbai, volunteers pledged to clean Dadar beach after the inspiring efforts conducted at Versova beach.  They hope this effort will indirectly help reduce marine pollution caused by plastic. Volunteers also planted more tree saplings to create more greenery.

Many children participate in these events as eventually as they have the most important stake in keeping planet Earth healthy.

Google Doodle created a special video on Earth Day with Dr. Jane Goodall, who is a famous conservationist. Enjoy!
