The Spanish La Liga will suffer as there won’t be anymore Messi vs Ronaldo battles. Can Real Madrid find a suitable replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo who ruled without a possible heir to the throne at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Before we get into why Ronaldo signed for the Italian club, Juventus, let’s do a quick run through Ronaldo’s career in numbers –
- 659 – Total Goals for Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid & Portugal
- 451 – Goals for Real Madrid
- 311 – Goals in Spanish La Liga
- 44 – Hattricks for Real Madrid
- 17 – Trophies won at Real Madrid
- 4 – Champions League Titles
- 4 – Ballon D’or Titles
- 1 – European Championship with Portugal
It was a once in a lifetime deal for Real Madrid. In 2009, the Spanish Club bought Ronaldo from Manchester United for €93 million. At the age of 23, Ronaldo was destined to rule Madrid. He did indeed. Nine years & countless memories later, in 2018 the 33-year-old signed with Juventus for €105 million. Real Madrid made a profit for sure but also won truckloads of trophies courtesy CR7. The 33-year-old costed Juventus more than what he cost Real Madrid a decade ago.

Real Madrid is currently without their star & also a Manager after Zinedine Zidane quit post winning the Champions League earlier this year. Will Real Madrid find another star? President Florentino Perez will now be working overtime as the team enters the Post-Ronaldo era.
On another note, Fiat employees in Italy called for a strike after their owner spent $130 million on Cristiano Ronaldo!
