King James has found a new home. Four-time MVP and three-time NBA Champion LeBron James will play for the iconic LA Lakers after he signed a four-year deal worth an eye-watering USD 154 million. He will wear the # 23 jersey with the Lakers.
James joined the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003. In 2010, he shocked his fans when he moved to the Miami Heat for a short stint. He won his first championship with the Miami Heat in 2012 but returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
James has had an extraordinary run with the Cavaliers and led them to the NBA Championships in 2016. In the last 2017-18 season, the Cavs reached the final again only to be humbled by the Golden State Warriors led by Steph Curry.

Interestingly, 3 days after losing the 2017-18 NBA title, James underwent a root-canal surgery and spent some alone time debating between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Lakers. After weeks and weeks of discussions and negotiations, LeBron announced his move late on Sunday night and drove the social media to a complete frenzy.
Another superstar import to the city of Los Angeles, LA Galaxy’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic welcomed Lebron with a typical social media post. Ibrahimovic, the self-proclaimed God of football tweeted to say, “Now LA has a God and a King! Zlatan welcomes @KingJames”.

King James has already achieved almost everything imaginable in his 15 year NBA career. With 3 championships, eight straight trips to the finals and 4 MVPs he has claimed a spot close to the likes of Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlin. In addition, to his new contract with the Lakers and new business opportunities, James is on track to become a ‘billion-dollar athlete.’ So what next?
In an interview, James’ says his ultimate goal is to share the NBA floor with his son, LeBron “Bronny” James Jr.
We wish him luck and hope he can bring the LA Lakers back to life!
