All you need to know about the FIFA World Cup 2018


If you are an Italian fan then look away as the 2018 FIFA Football World Cup will be nothing less than painful for you. For the rest, here is all that you need know about this amazing tournament!

32 nations will be battling for glory & of course bragging rights in Russia at the football World Cup. The World Cup will kick off on the 14th of June as hosts Russia will take on Saudi Arabia in the opening game at Moscow’s Luzhiniki Stadium.

All of us can watch the matches! Here’s how: What is good for the Indian fans is the matches won’t be at unearthly hours and even students can watch almost all the matches without the fear of missing school the next day. The matches will be in four time slots and will start from 3:30 pm in the afternoon to 11 pm in the night according to Indian Standard Time. You can catch all the matches of the World Cup live on Sony Networks. The tournament starts on June 14th. The knock-out stages begin on 30th June and the final will take place on 15th July in Moscow.


Who can you support? Well, to start with the defending champions Germany are once again the firm favourites despite their star goalkeeper Manuel Neuer struggling with injury. Even 8-time Champions Brazil’s talismanic striker Neymar Jr is fighting to get fit in time for the World Cup. All eyes will also be on France & Belgium who is once again touted as the dark horses in the race. One can also never count out Argentina, the two-time world champions will be lead by a little magician – Lionel Messi. Just like Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo will be fighting to win the last piece of silverware missing from his trophy cabinet as he will lead the European Champions Portugal.

Expect plenty of action, drama and some scintillating goals at this world cup, after all a carnival-like this only comes once in 4 years.
